The programme bridges classical remote sensing with modern AI-driven approaches, covering the complete pipeline from image acquisition to intelligent decision-making.
Participants will gain comprehensive, hands-on experience in hyperspectral preprocessing, dimensionality reduction, machine learning, deep learning architectures, and domain applications in agriculture, environment, defence, and medical imaging.The FDP is designed to enhance research capability and equip participants with contemporary tools for effective teaching and applied research.

Birla Institute of Technology (Mesra), founded in 1955 in Ranchi, Jharkhand, is a pioneer in space engineering and rocketry. The SERB-sponsored Two-Week High-End Workshop on HYDA-22 was organised by CQEDS, BIT Mesra under the Karyashala scheme of SERB-DST, gathering researchers from Agriculture, Forestry, Oceans, Geology, Environment, Defence, Climate Change, and Medical Science alongside Computer Science and Data Science professionals. Resource persons from IITs, ISRO, DRDO, IARI, and national universities delivered the full Hyperspectral Data Analytics pipeline.

The SERB-sponsored four-week Training and Skill Internship on “Hyperspectral Data Analytics” was organised by DQEDS, BIT Mesra from 3rd July to 30th July 2023. Distributed in 42 sessions over 28 days, hands-on training in open-source Python covered the complete data science life cycle.
Beginning with data collection from Hyperspectral Sensors and UAVs all the way to model building and visualization — participants gained practical expertise in the full hyperspectral analytics pipeline.
